Congratulations to Early Bird Winners Tom & Margaret Dixon Tom and Margaret Dixon of Newton, North Carolina, won two nights free lodging at the Crowne Plaza Riverwalk in San Antonio during AUSPL's annual conference. The couple own 11 post offices (alone and in partnership), which are located in Kentucky, West Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina. Margaret, a former British literature teacher for high school seniors, says the couple built the post offices themselves. "We owned three other facilities in North Carolina. When the Postal Service moved out, we converted the buildings into a drugstore, a medical clinic and a retail outlet." Tom was a county supervisor for the USDA and put more than 5,000 people in housing during his tenure. "We enjoy meeting Postal Service representatives at the conference," says Margaret. "It's fun to see new people and we like the support we receive from other members."
