Don't wait until it's too late. Write your legislator now

The President's Commission on the United States Postal Service has submitted its final report to President Bush. The Commission recommends lifting restrictions on closing less profitable local post offices. They see benefits in providing mail services via kiosks in shopping malls, banks and grocery stores.

We are working with the National League of Postmasters and its legal counsel. Plans are being drawn up for the most effective ways we can stop the wholesale closing of rural post offices.

We urge all postal lessors to write their Senators and Representatives today.

Read AUSPL President Gary Poelstra's letter to postal lessors to learn how you can help. For your convenience, here are three sample letters from which to choose to send to your legislators. You can read the testimony and comments of Steve Le Noir, President of the National League of Postmasters.

You can look up members of Congress on this web site:

Please help us urge the President and Congress to oppose any attempts to weaken the United States Postal Service. Please fax, E-mail or write your legislator today.
